A Sunday in My Life: A Journey of Small Adventures

A Sunday in My Life: A Journey of Small Adventures

Today, I started my day with a bit of a surprise. Yesterday, I had stayed up late, around 1:30 or 2:00 AM, thinking I’d sleep in. However, I woke up around 6 or 7 AM, earlier than expected. I thought I hadn’t slept enough, so I went back to bed, only to wake up again a few hours later, this time to a call from my future roommate.

It was around 9:30 AM when he called to inform me that the PG (Paying Guest) owner was planning to give my room to someone else. I immediately told him to ask the owner not to do so, as I was on my way to secure the room. After hanging up, I woke up fully, freshened up, and realized that I had missed breakfast at the PG. The night before, I had planned to have breakfast at a nearby restaurant, so I quickly got ready and went there.

I ended up having a plate of Puri Sagu, a dish I’d never had before, at a restaurant I often visit. The food was okay, though the taste of the Puri Sagu was quite different from what I had expected. After finishing breakfast, I received a call from a friend in Bangalore. He asked if I was heading to see him, and I confirmed that I would come after breakfast.

Next, I headed to the PG to pay the advance and ensure the room was secured. I met my roommate, had a brief chat with him, and then made my way to the bus stop to head towards my friend’s place. However, I wasn’t sure which bus to take. I looked at my Uber app, stood at the bus stop, and asked people around if their buses were going toward Silk Board. After a while, I realized I was at the wrong bus stop, so I switched to a different one but still couldn’t find the right bus.

Frustrated, I opened my Uber app and decided to book a ride instead. The fare was reasonable, and I headed to Koramangala to meet my friend. On the way, he called again to tell me that he was not at his place and was in the market, asking me to wait for him. I reached his flat and waited for him there. Once he returned, we had a quick catch-up session before he gave me some documentation work to do.

After completing the work, we went to offer Namaz, then had lunch with his roommates. The meal was delicious, but by the time I was ready to leave, I realized it was already getting late. I headed out and, again, found myself waiting for a bus. After a few moments of frustration, I decided to book an Uber ride. However, the app had some issues, and many rides were cancelled right after they were assigned to me. After a few cancellations, I changed my location to a main road, where I booked a Rapido ride instead.

Interestingly, the Rapido driver showed up at the same bus stop where I had just been waiting! I hopped on and made my way back to my room. Upon arrival, the driver dropped me off on the opposite side of the road. I was a bit confused at first, but he explained that I could just walk across the road instead of taking a long detour.

When it was time to pay, I had some issues with scanning the payment QR code. After trying for a while and realizing it wasn’t working, I offered to pay in cash. I finally got back to my room, feeling very tired. After a quick break, I realized I needed to buy a new toothbrush, so I stepped out to a nearby grocery store.

On the way to the store, I stopped to offer Namaz again. At the store, I picked out a toothbrush (though it was quite expensive) and grabbed some snacks before heading back to my room. By then, it was around 7:00 PM, and I was feeling hungry. I charged my phone and scrolled through social media as I waited for it to charge enough to head out again.

Since it was the weekend, I decided to have dinner outside. I went to a mall and searched for a place to eat. I found a restaurant named Charminar and ordered an egg biryani with veg rice. After a short wait, I was handed my meal, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The dish was more like plain rice with a few spices, and definitely not the flavorful biryani I was hoping for. The price of 220 rupees also felt overpriced for the quality.

After dinner, I went to a health store in the mall and treated myself to some Gulab Jamun, which I’ve enjoyed before. Satisfied with my sweet treat, I started heading back to my room. I had a bit of a mix-up at the mall when I realized I had forgotten to grab a water bottle from outside, so I had to go back out before entering again.

Finally, I returned to my room, sat down for a few minutes to relax, and caught up with my family over the phone. After the call, I reviewed my notes from yesterday’s class and worked on a blog post. Now, as the day comes to a close, I’m about to get some much-needed rest and prepare for tomorrow.

Final Thoughts:

Today has been full of small but interesting adventures. From dealing with PG issues to unexpected delays with rides and food, it’s been a busy and somewhat chaotic day. But in the end, it’s all part of the journey. Let’s see what tomorrow brings!
