My Second Day of Training at QSpider: A Journey of Learning and Growth

My Second Day of Training at QSpider: A Journey of Learning and Growth

Today marked the second day of my training at QSpider. My alarm was set for 8:00 a.m., but I woke up a bit earlier at 7:15 a.m. I had some extra time, so I decided to scroll through social media, particularly YouTube, and catch up on a few things. I had a relaxed start to the day, and then went for breakfast, which was idli with chutney. After finishing my meal, I returned to my room, feeling like I still had plenty of time left. I waited for a bit and then began getting ready for the day ahead.

I packed my bag, double-checked everything, and locked my room. I made my way to the nearby tea stall where I enjoyed a cup of coffee. By then, I still had about 15 minutes to spare, so I grabbed another coffee before heading to the training center.

Upon arriving at the center, I joined my peers in putting down our attendance in the register. I was there about 5 minutes before 10:00 a.m. but, as it turned out, the trainer didn’t arrive on time. He arrived at around 10:25 or 10:30 a.m. Once he was there, he quickly introduced himself and shared a bit about his journey before diving into the subject of SQL (Structured Query Language).

He emphasized the importance of maintaining a separate notebook specifically for this subject and taking proper notes using colored pens. It was clear that he was passionate about making sure we had everything organized for our learning.

What We Learned in the SQL Class

The trainer began with the basics, explaining the term “data.” He defined data as raw facts that describe the attributes of an entity. We then noted the definition of "entity," which he described as an object that can be either living or non-living, something with a physical existence in the real world.

The next key term introduced was "database." He explained that a database is a structured system used to store data in an organized manner. We also learned about various operations that can be performed in a database, which are collectively referred to as CRUD operations (Create, Read, Update, Delete).

We also explored the concept of DBMS (Database Management System). According to our trainer, DBMS is software used to manage and maintain databases, with key features such as security and authorization. DBMS allows us to store data in files, and we use query languages to interact with it.

A Brief Break and Java Demo by Keshav Sir

After the SQL class, we had a 25-minute break, so I decided to step outside, breathe in some fresh air, and take a moment to relax. Once I returned to the classroom, I sat at my seat. Though the seating arrangement wasn’t ideal for me, I made it work.

Next up was Keshav Sir, the co-founder of QSpider, who was supposed to take a demo class on Java. Since most of us were freshers, it was more of an introduction to the courses offered by QSpider. Keshav Sir gave us insights into the training programs, market demand, and what skills freshers should focus on.

He listed five key areas that are crucial for any fresher aspiring to work in a tech company:

  1. Aptitude: A solid foundation in problem-solving and logical reasoning.
  2. Communication: Being able to effectively express thoughts and ideas.
  3. Programming Language: Mastering one programming language.
  4. Logical Programming with DSA: Understanding data structures and algorithms.
  5. Interview Preparation: Mastering the skills required for cracking interviews.

Keshav Sir also shared some essential rules, including maintaining at least 90% attendance, being present for every session, participating in mock interviews, and attending grooming sessions to ensure we’re industry-ready.

The Rest of the Day and Looking Ahead

After the session, we were informed that there would be no further classes for the day. Though we were all relieved to have some free time, I was quite exhausted from sitting in the sessions for nearly four hours straight. However, I’m motivated to keep going, knowing that this is the start of a valuable learning journey.

Keshav Sir mentioned that tomorrow’s classes would follow a similar schedule, and on Monday, we would receive a complete timetable with sessions running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This made me a bit anxious, as I wondered how I would manage such long hours of learning. But I’m determined to push through, and with a positive mindset, I know I’ll be able to do it.

Conclusion

My second day at QSpider was filled with valuable insights and knowledge. It’s just the beginning, but I feel that I’m on the right path toward building the skills needed for a successful career in tech. Though the road ahead may be challenging, I’m committed to making the most of this opportunity and learning as much as I can
