A Day in the Life at J Spiders: My 13th Day Experience

Today marked my 13th day at J Spiders, and it was an interesting one. I woke up feeling sleepy, probably due to not getting enough rest the previous night. I got freshened up and started my day. I had soaked almonds from the previous night, along with two dates. I ate them first, followed by two chapatis from my tiffin. I was about to start eating the rice, but when I opened the container, I realized that the rice had become soggy and spoiled. The smell made me feel nauseous, so I closed the container and just drank some water instead. I decided to have some almonds, dates, and chapati instead.

After this, I offered my Namaz and went back to sleep. I had set my alarm for 7:30 AM, but I received a message reminding me that there was no class at that time. Our instructor had informed us the day before that there wouldn't be a 7:30 AM session and that the first class would be at 10 AM. I had forgotten about it, but luckily, the notification helped me remember. I didn’t want to set another alarm, but I kept one for 9:30 AM, just to be on the safe side. I managed to sleep in until then.

At 9:30, my alarm went off, and I quickly got ready to head to the institute. On my way, one of my friends called and asked whether the class was happening or not, since they weren't attending today. They were at a placement drive at their college, but it didn’t turn out to be very interesting, so they were planning to come back. I updated them about the class status.

When I arrived, the class hadn’t started yet. Our trainer was on leave, and we had a substitute who gave us practice exercises on various Java topics, such as if-else statements, logical operators, and arrays. My friends joined me in the second session from 12 PM to 2 PM. After the class, they decided to go home, but I was left with some free time. I wasn’t sure what to do, so I decided to head back to my room to complete some pending tasks.

Once back at my room, I started scrolling through social media, but soon I felt like taking a short nap, as I usually do. I kept my phone aside, lay down, and tried to sleep. However, I started receiving calls, and it became difficult to relax. After a few minutes, I realized I wasn’t feeling sleepy anymore. I remembered that I had already slept earlier in the morning, so I decided to get up and try to work on my tasks. But, of course, laziness took over, and I couldn’t get much done.

The time was approaching for Asr prayer, so I got ready and headed to the mosque. I was a bit late, but I performed Wudu (ablution) and offered my Namaz. By the time I finished, it was almost time for Iftar. I went upstairs for Iftar, and I usually look forward to seeing Sagar, who hands out almonds. However, he wasn't there today, and I waited for a while but didn’t see him. I went inside, and someone offered me a glass of Rooh Afza, which I accepted. I went to my usual spot in the hall, sat down, and waited for Iftar.

After Iftar, I offered Maghrib Namaz and decided to go to a restaurant I had visited previously. I wanted to try a different dish this time. I ordered a Khushka, thinking it was just plain white rice with some curry. However, when my order arrived, I realized that Khushka is essentially Biryani rice without the chicken. If served with chicken, it’s called Biryani, and if not, it’s Khushka. I was surprised, but it turned out to be delicious. I had it and then went to try a new dessert, Ras Malai, at a sweet shop I had seen the day before. Unfortunately, they were out of Ras Malai, but they offered me Rabdi instead. I accepted it, and it was quite tasty. The price was 60 rupees, but I thought it should have been a bit cheaper, maybe around 40 to 50 rupees.

Afterward, I had a craving for something chilled, so I bought a bottle of Fanta. Despite being full from the biryani and Rabdi, I couldn’t resist. I paid the 18 rupees for the drink and put it in my pocket to drink later.

When I got back to my room, my stomach had emptied a bit, so I drank the Fanta. Then, I started going through my pending tasks, although I got distracted by social media a few times. Eventually, I managed to finish some of my writing work. I also opened my laptop and completed some pending assignments. A few tasks were still left, but I decided to take a break since it was time for dinner.

I took my tiffin to the dining area, washed it, and served myself whatever was available. I was happy to find an egg included in the dinner. After eating, I placed my tiffin in the fridge and filled up my water bottles. I then returned to my room and called my parents and some relatives. I intended to sleep early, but somehow, I ended up staying up late and started writing this blog.

That was my day! It was a mix of productive moments and some relaxed time in between. Let’s see what tomorrow holds.
