Day 22 in the Life of a Software Development Student

Today is the 15th of March, 2025, marking my 22nd day at the Software Development Institute in Bangalore. The time was around 3:15 AM when my phone rang. I had set an alarm for 4:00 AM, but just a minute or two before it rang, my aunt called me to wake up. I don’t know why, but I was in such a deep sleep that I didn’t even hear her call. I couldn’t answer the phone, but after a few minutes, the alarm went off, and I woke up. I was still in a sleepy mood, but I managed to motivate myself to get up. I freshened up, called my aunt to let her know I had woken up, and then went downstairs. I had my Sehri meal, followed by Fajr Namaz. After praying, I slept again and woke up at 7:30 AM, which was about 10 minutes later than I had planned.

I quickly got ready and headed to the institute. On my way, I called my friend to check if she had arrived yet, and by the time I reached, she was still on her way. I walked to the class, kept my bag, and since I had walked a long distance, I was hot and sweating. So, I went upstairs to the terrace to cool off and catch my breath. I was waiting for my friend, looking at the roads, hoping to see her, but I was looking in the wrong direction! She came by a different road, so I missed her.

She arrived, saw my bag, and guessed I was on the terrace. She came upstairs, and we stood there for about 5 minutes, until we noticed our sir's car coming. We quickly headed to the class because he was about to arrive. Once he parked, the class started. Sir began explaining Java concepts using real-time examples, such as how to declare and initialize real objects.

After the class, we went to the park for breakfast. A few of us played catch, and there was a couple playing badminton. After breakfast, we returned to the classroom, where it was time for presentations. I had my turn, and Alhamdulillah, my presentation went well. I felt more confident this time. One of my teammates was absent, so I had to take over for them. During the presentation, I started feeling a scratchy sensation in my throat, and it became difficult to breathe. I didn’t know why this was happening, but I went upstairs for a while to recover. When I returned, all the presentations were over, and it was time to take attendance. Afterward, we went to our next class, but it was already occupied, so we went out and walked around the nearby streets for a bit.

After about 15-20 minutes, we returned to class, but sir had not arrived yet. He had been busy with something and had sent a replacement. The replacement started explaining a few things, but we were all waiting for our original trainer, which left us feeling a little down. So, I took a nap in the class, and the others were busy on their phones. Finally, the class ended, and sir made an important announcement. From Monday, we would have a new timetable: Java for 2 hours, Logical Programming for 2 hours, Presentation for 2 hours, SQL for 2 hours, and Aptitude for 2 hours.

He also announced that there would be no more classes after this session, which made us all happy. It felt like a small break, and we didn’t mind that the classes were suspended. My friends were happy to go home early, and I was glad too because I was feeling very tired. Once I got home, I dropped off my bag, watched some TV, and then fell asleep. However, my sleep wasn’t good. This was the third time in two days that I had restless sleep, waking up often and having bad dreams. I don't know why my sleep quality has been so bad lately. I woke up around 3:00 AM, and I didn’t feel well-rested.

I thought I’d try to sleep for another 30 minutes, so I went back to bed at 5:00 AM, hoping to get some rest before waking up for Fajr Namaz. But I ended up waking up at 6:00 AM, which was too late, and I missed Asr Namaz. I quickly got ready, went to the masjid, and performed Wudu. Although I was feeling a bit more stable after that, I was still very late for my prayer. I had just enough time to catch Iftar before Maghrib Namaz.

Afterward, I decided to try something new for my dinner instead of the usual rice. I was craving something nutritious but didn’t have many options due to my limited budget. I was on my way to get a Badam Shake when I passed a Pani Puri stall. It had been a while since I had some, so I decided to indulge and enjoy some Pani Puri. Afterward, I didn’t get the Badam Shake because my stomach was full, and my budget was tight. I also had to prepare for Sehri.

I decided to have a Biryani and then took some Vicks tablets to help ease the discomfort in my throat. Afterward, I had a craving for French fries, so I went to find a place that sold them. After walking around a few shops, I finally found a restaurant that had French fries. I bought them and then went to another shop to get a stool. I needed a better place to sit and work on my laptop, as sitting on my bed with the laptop on my lap was very uncomfortable. The stool would allow me to sit properly, so I bought one.

Once I got home, I kept my new stool in place and had my French fries. Around 9:00 PM, I received a call from my mother. After talking to her, I filled my tiffin with Biryani, grabbed my water bottles, and went to the dining area. I put my tiffin in the fridge, filled the bottles with water, and then returned to my room. I soaked some almonds for Sehri, called my aunt and grandfather, and after chatting with them, I sat down to write this blog.

Now it’s 11:00 PM, and I’m about to sleep. That’s all for today. See you tomorrow with new experiences, and if you have any questions or requests for content, feel free to ask in the comments. Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe. Most of my audience is from Singapore, so if you have any queries or want me to cover a specific topic, I’ll do my best to serve you.

Goodnight and take care!
