Day 27 at Software Development Institute, Bangalore – A Day Full of Struggles and Small Wins!

Hey everyone! Apologies for not posting a blog yesterday. I was completely stressed and exhausted, so I couldn't manage to write. But no worries, I'm here today with some interesting content. Let's dive in!

Morning Routine – A Hectic Start

My day started at 3:00 AM when I woke up. I freshened up, offered my Namaz, and then boiled some eggs for Sehri. While waiting for the eggs, I went downstairs to grab my tiffin from the fridge. By the time I came back, the eggs were boiled, and I had to peel off the almonds I had soaked the night before.

To make peeling easier, I placed the almonds in the hot water I had used for boiling the eggs. This helped loosen the skin, and I could peel them off quickly. After finishing my almonds and eggs, I woke up my roommate so he could also have Sehri.

We both got ready, ate the chapatis from the tiffin, and I started cooking rice. However, I had to leave some rice unfinished since time was running out. I drank a full glass of water, offered Fajr Namaz, and then went back to sleep.

Class Time – A Slightly Better Start

I woke up again around 7:30 AM, got ready, and headed to class. You’re probably thinking, “The guy who’s always late for class, how did he wake up so early today?” Well, it’s because I was planning to write the blog this morning! But luck wasn’t on my side, and that didn’t happen.

I got to the institute just on time—well, 4-5 minutes early. But as usual, the teacher didn’t follow his own schedule. Despite the class being at 7:30 AM, he showed up around 8:00-8:20 AM. Today, though, he came at 8:30 AM but was still 15-20 minutes late.

Once he arrived, he began teaching us about constructor overloading, its rules, and gave us a few real-life examples. After that, the class ended, and he took an extra 15-20 minutes.

Logical Programming Class – Solo Learning

Next up, we had a logical programming class. I was the only one from my group attending the session since Rishika was absent, and Manoj and Suresh had gone to request leave.

The teacher continued from where he left off the day before, showing us how to check whether a number is prime or not using the basic approach. Today, he introduced a more efficient, shorter method to check prime numbers. The entire session was dedicated to this, and by the end, he demonstrated how to find the factorial of a number using a loop. He also mentioned that we could use recursion for this, which he would show us later.

After the class, he assigned us homework, and we left.

The Web Project Struggles – Slow Internet Everywhere

After that, we headed to another building for our web project class. The faculty showed us how to create a MERN project and a login page using the MDB React template. Unfortunately, there was a huge crowd, and the internet was too slow for anyone to complete the task. Everyone had issues, and I wasn’t any better off.

My internet has been down since yesterday evening. When I contacted customer care, they told me there was some maintenance work going on. I can’t understand how, in a city like Bangalore, they can turn off the internet, especially since it's so dependent on it!

One of my classmates let me use his hotspot, but it was slow since he was sharing it with other students. After several retries and countless errors, I finally managed to finish the login page, but the session ended shortly after. The teacher instructed us to complete the installation process at home where the internet was better.

Internet Troubles – The Struggle for Connectivity

On my way back to the PG, I was hoping for a stable internet connection so I could catch up on everything. I had even bought some bread on the way back, but when I reached my room, I found that the PG internet was also down. I was shocked!

I complained to the owner, but after a quick reset, it was still not working. I called my mom to recharge my Airtel sim and also reported the issue to Jio. The Jio helpline informed me that a jammer had been installed for some maintenance work.

I was anxious that if I recharged my sim, the internet might still not work, wasting my money. However, my sister recommended a cheap plan for ₹11, which offered unlimited internet for one hour. I decided to go for it. To my relief, the internet finally worked after the recharge!

I quickly downloaded a couple of videos and then started researching how to use my multi-purpose kettle, which I had been trying to use to roast bread. Turns out, it doesn’t work without water, as it automatically turns off if it’s empty. By the time I figured this out, the bread slices I had placed in the kettle were crisp instead of roasted.

Evening Routine – The Little Wins

Finally, after a long day of struggles, my internet worked. I downloaded a couple of videos and got to work on my pending tasks.

Around Iftar time, I went to the masjid for Asr Namaz, followed by a quick Iftar. After Maghrib Namaz, I went to get a badam shake, which was given to me in a tiny glass that felt inadequate compared to what they serve at the stall. Nevertheless, I didn’t let it bother me and headed to a biryani hotel to pick up some food.

I called my roommate to check if he needed anything, and he didn’t. So, I got biryani for myself and returned to the PG. After eating, I decided to make something special—Shahi Tukda! I had roasted some bread slices and soaked them in the badam shake. The first batch turned out a bit too hard, but I added a few drops of water for the second batch, and it was much better.

While I was eating my Shahi Tukda, I received a call from my mom. We had a nice chat, and just as I finished my bread and the call, I cleaned up and headed to the dining area with my tiffin and bottle. After washing my tiffin, I found that Rajma was on the menu, so I filled my bottle and returned to my room.

As I was about to wrap up, my PG’s internet was still not working. It was to be repaired tomorrow. So, I used my mobile hotspot to write this blog.

Conclusion

So that’s it for today’s blog! From internet issues to experimenting in the kitchen, today was a mix of small wins and struggles. It was a hectic day, but I managed to get through it all. I hope you enjoyed reading about the chaos of my day!

Stay tuned for my next blog, and I’ll see you all soon!
