My 10th Day at J Spiders: A Journey of Learning, Ramzan Preparations, and New Experiences

March 1, 2025, marked my 10th day at J Spiders. The day started early, with my alarm ringing at 5 AM. Although I was still a little drowsy and didn’t fully wake up until around 5:30 AM, I had a pressing task: my laundry. I had to get up early to take care of it.

I went up to the terrace, where the washing machine was available, but there was someone already in line. Knowing I wouldn’t be able to wash my clothes if I waited, I decided to head back to my room, feeling a bit disappointed. I spent the next 30 minutes thinking about what to do.

After getting ready, I realized that breakfast wasn’t ready yet. I was unsure if the teacher would allow me to eat during class, as the schedule was packed with Java sessions. I didn’t want to risk being late, so I chose not to eat breakfast at home. However, while on the way to the institute, I passed a tea stall and decided to grab a quick tea and a biscuit. It gave me just the energy and confidence I needed, knowing that I could sit through class until lunch if necessary.

Arriving at the institute, I saw the class was empty at first, but gradually students started trickling in, and by 7:45 AM, the trainer arrived and began the Java session. We focused on flow control statements with several examples and practice sessions. The trainer also mentioned that the full-day Java class wouldn’t happen as scheduled because he had a meeting. Despite that, we had an insightful session on Java, which was followed by a presentation class instead of a regular Java session.

After the morning class, my friends suggested heading to the park, so I decided to join them. We had a dosa together, and it was nice to take a break from the routine. Post-breakfast, we returned to the institute for the aptitude class, where we discussed percentages and learned techniques for calculating percentages, as well as some important values.

By the time the Java class started, it was replaced by a presentation session. In the morning, we had covered logical and relational operators, while the afternoon session was dedicated to flow control statements. After practicing a few programs, the Java class concluded.

Though my friends were planning to head home, I didn’t want to skip any classes, so I returned to my PG, had lunch, and then came back to the institute. Unfortunately, I was a bit late, and the attendance was already taken. The trainer didn’t allow me to enter the class, so I waited for a few minutes and decided to head back to my room.

Once back in my room, I noticed that the washing machine was now free. I rushed to the terrace with all my laundry and started the machine. I also took some time to clean my cupboard, which had become quite disorganized. While waiting for the laundry to finish, I worked on organizing my room. Once the clothes were washed and rinsed, I hung them up on the clothesline to dry.

Around 6:30 or 7:00 PM, I began receiving messages for "Ramzan Mubarak." Excited, I rushed to the terrace to catch a glimpse of the moon, marking the first time in my life I witnessed the moon alone. I felt a sense of joy and recited a Dua before capturing a photo to remember the moment.

Afterward, I folded the dry clothes and arranged them in my cupboard, except for the still-moist ones. I logged my room and then rushed to the masjid for Sehri. The masjid was about 1.5 km from my PG. I didn’t know the namaz timings, but I started walking and reached the masjid around 8:15 PM, just as the Azan was being called. I performed Wudu and prayed.

While there, I inquired about Sehri, and one of the people there informed me that it would be available at 3:00 AM. Another gentleman, who also lived in a PG nearby, offered me a ride back on his scooter. He also mentioned that I was welcome to join him for Sehri. I took his contact details and confirmed the timing before heading back to my PG for dinner.

Afterward, I cleaned my bed, arranged the remaining clothes in the cupboard, and started writing this blog post. Reflecting on the day, I felt a sense of gratitude for the new experiences and the start of the holy month of Ramzan.

I’m feeling a bit nervous about how I’ll manage walking 1.5 km daily for Sehri, but Alhamdulillah, I trust Allah will make a way for me. InshaAllah, my entire Ramzan will be amazing.

Conclusion: A Busy Yet Rewarding Day

Today was a mix of learning, preparation, and new experiences. From Java classes to the excitement of seeing the moon for the first time during Ramzan, it was a day filled with memorable moments. Despite some small challenges, I am hopeful for the days ahead. I can’t wait to share more about my journey through Ramzan and my daily experiences at J Spiders.
