A Day in the Life - 6th March 2025: My 14th Day at J Spiders
Today was a bit of a rollercoaster for me. It’s my 14th day at J Spiders, and I had a mix of emotions, experiences, and reflections. Let me walk you through how my day went.
I woke up early this morning in Sahar, freshened up, and had my Sahari (pre-dawn meal) before offering Fajr namaz. After that, I decided to take a quick nap for about an hour. By 7:30 AM, I was ready and headed towards the institute. Although I was running 5-10 minutes late, I managed to reach the institute just in time, only to find that the instructor hadn’t arrived yet. A few of my friends were already there, and I joined them.
I settled in a row where my friends were sitting, but they kept calling me. I told them I’d join after one session. However, one of my friends called me and said she had missed the turn and was lost, looking for the institute. Eventually, she arrived and sat behind me, so I joined her.
Our instructor was about an hour late, but as soon as he arrived, he began the class. To make up for the delay, he handed out chocolates to all the students as compensation. I took mine and left the class with my friends.
As we stepped outside, one of my friends asked if he could have my chocolate since I was fasting, and I agreed. I snapped a picture of it to share with them. Afterward, we made our way to the park, as we usually do after class. Everyone had their breakfast, but since I was fasting, I didn't eat anything.
After some time at the park, we debated whether to attend the next class. I decided to go, but my friend Rishika wasn’t in the mood. Eventually, we convinced her to join. The class turned out to be a practice session, followed by a 15-minute break. When the Java trainer arrived, he started a lecture on methods—explaining their declaration and usage.
At lunchtime, most of my friends went home, but I stayed behind to offer my Zuhr namaz. Afterward, I took a nap. Around this time, one of my friends called me to let me know he was in class, so I joined him. By then, the rest of the class had left. We spent some time solving various examples and practicing what we had learned. Towards the end, the instructor gave us around 25-26 practice questions for the upcoming weekly test.
After the class, I left the institute and returned to my room. I dropped off my bag and spent some time scrolling through social media for about 30 minutes to an hour. Then, it was time for Asr namaz. After offering it, I went out to see if there was anything to eat. I found some Haleem, but before I could grab some, a needy person took the last portion. Instead, I had a satisfying Iftar later on.
After Maghrib namaz, I headed back to my PG, but I made a stop on the way to grab a couple of snacks. I bought an egg puff, and I was craving something sweet, so I went to the sweet shop I had visited previously. Fortunately, they had Ras Malai, so I ordered one. However, while eating, I found a couple of hairs in it, which was quite unpleasant. The taste was okay but not amazing. I paid 30 rupees for the Ras Malai and 15 rupees for the egg puff.
I continued my walk back to my room, passing by many food stalls, but I resisted the temptation. Just in case, I bought a biscuit as a backup and returned to my room. I intended to start studying and practicing, but I ended up getting distracted by social media for another hour.
As dinner time approached, I grabbed my tiffin and went downstairs. When I remembered I had forgotten to buy shampoo, I left my tiffin on the dining table, went out to buy some, and washed my tiffin. I served my dinner and kept it in the fridge before heading back to my room. I then filled up my water bottles.
On the way back, something unusual happened—the lift got stuck due to a power cut! I waited for a couple of minutes, hoping someone would switch on the generator, but I realized no one knew I was in the lift. Just as I was about to call the owner, the lift started working again, and I made it out safely.
I got back to my room, called my parents and some relatives to check in and catch up, and then began writing this blog.
Reflection and Thoughts:
Today, I also faced some emotional challenges. I felt mentally drained and alone, even though I’m surrounded by people. Everyone around me seems to have close friendships or romantic relationships, and I often feel left out. I noticed some of my friends were arguing and not paying attention to me, which made me feel even more isolated. It’s been bothering me a lot, but I know I need to handle it.
Despite these negative thoughts, I’ve been through tougher challenges in the past. I’ve overcome relationships that lasted more than two years, and I’ve navigated some serious emotional struggles. So, I remind myself that I can handle this too. This is just a phase, and inshaAllah, it will pass.
I may feel alone sometimes, but I know I’m stronger than this. If anyone reading this knows what I’m going through or has any advice, please feel free to comment below.
That's all for today. I'll try to be back tomorrow with a new update. Stay strong, everyone.
