A Day in the Life of a Student at J Spiders High: My 12th Day Journey
Today was my 12th day at J Spiders High. I woke up when my alarm rang at 4:00 AM, freshened up, and then had my sahari (pre-dawn meal). After that, I offered the Fajr prayer and went back to sleep for about an hour. When I woke up, I got ready and headed to the institute.
Upon arriving, I punched in my attendance and went to class. My friends were sitting in the back, but I suggested we sit in the front rows. However, they didn’t want to, so I sat in the middle of the class. The instructor then began explaining while loops and covered various interview-related questions. Once the session ended, it was time for a short breakfast break.
My friends and I went to the park. They had their breakfast while I just relaxed around them. After they finished, we headed back to the class. Another instructor was there, guiding students through practice programs. I wrote two programs as part of the exercises, but for the rest of the time, I just relaxed, enjoyed the class, and let my mind wander.
Once the class ended, we had to wait for the next instructor. We waited for about 15 minutes, but they didn’t arrive, so my friends and I went upstairs to enjoy the view and the cool breeze. I noticed my other friends were having a serious discussion, though I couldn’t make out what it was about. I received a call from my family, which I answered while watching them talk. After half an hour, the discussion wrapped up, and we chatted for a couple of minutes before heading back to class.
Our next instructor came, and we sat down as he began explaining variable classifications and the context of variable scope. Unfortunately, due to the trainer arriving late, the session didn’t last long enough for an in-depth discussion. After that, we went outside the institute. My friends went for breakfast, while I decided to visit a nearby mosque.
I took a half-hour nap at the mosque, setting my alarm. However, each time I was about to fall into a deep sleep, something disturbed me. Despite the interruptions, I managed to rest lightly. Once my alarm rang, I woke up, freshened up, and headed back to the institute, where my friends were waiting for me.
We returned to the class, and once again, I asked my friends if we could sit in the front rows, but they preferred the same seats as before. One of my friends was really into watching cricket, and since there was a match today, she opened her phone and started watching it during class while I focused on the instructor.
After the session, we left the institute early, with about 10 minutes to spare. I had two options: attend a session for another half-hour or head back to my room to rest before offering the Asr and Maghrib prayers. I chose the second option, said goodbye to my friends, and headed to my PG (paying guest accommodation).
Once I reached my PG, I kept my bag, sat down, and spent about half an hour scrolling through my phone. When the time for Asr namaz approached, I got up, got ready, and went to the mosque to offer the prayer. Afterward, I waited for Iftar (the evening meal to break the fast). As the time for Iftar drew near, I went upstairs to the mosque, had my Iftar, then came back downstairs and offered the Maghrib prayer.
After Maghrib, I walked back to my PG. On the way, I passed a good hotel and remembered hearing about their biryani. I decided to stop by. The biryani was definitely not on par with the famous biryanis from Bidar or Hyderabad, but it was much better than any other I had recently tasted. It had the right amount of spice, something that’s hard to find in Bangalore, where many dishes lack the proper seasoning. I also ordered an onion samosa, which was great. After finishing the meal, I paid the bill and headed back to my PG.
On my way, I stopped by a supermarket to buy some almonds for Sahari (pre-dawn meal). It seemed there was a power outage because the billing process took longer than usual. I eventually paid and left the supermarket, where my mother called me. I chatted with her while walking.
I passed several sweet shops on my way to a shop where I had rasmalai a few days ago. I had been craving it, but when I tried the rasmalai this time, I was completely disappointed. The taste was not even close to what I had expected—it was barely edible. I ate it anyway, though I didn’t enjoy it, and then returned to my room.
I sat for a few minutes, reflecting on the day. Then, I took my tiffin to the kitchen, washed it, and prepared my dinner. After dinner, I took my tiffin back to my room, along with my water bottle, to eat during Sahari.
Later, I got confused about a problem from class and decided to look it up on YouTube. I found a lecture explaining the concept clearly, which helped me understand it. I spent the next few minutes browsing social media and then started writing this blog. Oh, and I also had a resume review happening at the same time!
And that’s it for today! Tomorrow brings another day of learning, challenges, and experiences. Let’s catch up then!
