Day 21 at Software Development Institute, Bangalore – A Day Filled with Holi, Presentations, and Reflections
Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog! Today is March 14th, and it marks Day 21 of my journey at the Software Development Institute in Bangalore. Let me take you through my day!
I woke up around 3:15 AM, took a quick shower, and then went downstairs to the dining area of my PG (Paying Guest accommodation). After grabbing my tiffin, I went back to my room to have sehri (pre-dawn meal). After finishing my meal, I decided to sleep for about an hour and a half.
However, when my alarm went off at 7:15 AM, I realized that I was running late. My class was supposed to start at 8:45 AM, but I was in no mood to get up! I saw a notification from the institute, confirming the class start time, and this only added to my frustration. I was in a dilemma—either I could try to sleep again for a little while, or I could just get up and go.
I called my friends to check if they had left for the institute, and they informed me that they were already on their way. By the time I reached the institute, they would be there too, so I decided to leave. After all, I couldn’t sleep forever. I rushed and got ready, but unfortunately, I was still late. When I reached, the class had already started, and we began learning about memory areas, specifically about when classes and objects are created.
After the class, we had a presentation session scheduled. But since it was Holi, my friends weren’t very interested in doing the presentation. Instead, they wanted to celebrate the festival and head home early. We all decided to step out of the institute and went to the nearby park. While we were contemplating whether we should sit and relax there, I received a call from my Demat team saying that they were ready for the presentation and waiting for me.
I informed my friends that I needed to attend the presentation as I was the leader. While they urged Rishika not to come with me, she decided to join anyway. So, we both headed to the class, where I immediately got started with the presentation. Some of the students were struggling to understand the topic, so I repeated and clarified the points. I also encouraged others to explain the topic if they understood it better.
After the presentation, I called Rishika to check if she was coming back, but she told me that she was staying with her friends to celebrate Holi. Since our class had already been taken over by another batch, we were asked to wait in a different room. We waited for nearly half an hour before the room became available.
Once we were back in the class, the sir didn’t teach anything new. Instead, he gave us some pending notes and told us that he would cover more on classes and objects in the upcoming lessons. The class soon ended, and I was hoping that he would cancel the next session so we could head home early for Holi. Thankfully, my wish came true! He announced that the next class was canceled, and we were free to go home.
Afterward, I went to the masjid to offer Asr namaz. I felt physically drained, likely because of the earlier presentation, the laundry I had to do, and the general busyness of the day. But I still managed to offer my prayer before heading back to my PG.
Upon returning, I was in a bit of a rush. I had to quickly check if the washing machine was free, as I had a pile of laundry waiting to be done. Luckily, the machine was available, so I hurriedly gathered all my clothes, put them in the machine, and started the wash. I wanted to watch a series while I waited, but I also needed to clean my cupboard, so I did that first.
The wash cycle was supposed to take around 70 minutes, but with the water-filling time, it ended up taking nearly 120 minutes. Every 25 minutes, I checked on the machine to see if it was done. Finally, after waiting for a bit longer, I took out the clothes, which were a little moist. I hung them up on the available strings on the terrace, where I stayed to ensure the clothes didn’t blow away in the wind.
By the time the Asr prayer came around, I had just enough time to take the dried clothes into my room, where I organized them, folding the dry ones and hanging the wet clothes. I then left my room to offer Asr namaz. Honestly, I was feeling really low at that point, likely due to the exhaustion and thirst from the day, but I still managed to go.
After namaz, I started preparing for Iftar. Just as I was about to enjoy my meal, a friend of mine called me, and we had a discussion about internships for about 10 minutes. Right after we hung up, I got ready for iftar. The menu for Iftar was fantastic, with so many dishes, and I was really grateful for it. I thanked Allah for such a generous meal. There was sheer korma too, which was delicious.

Once I finished iftar, I offered Maghrib namaz and headed back to my PG. I had initially planned to grab something to eat, but since I was full from the Iftar, I didn’t feel like having anything. I decided to take some biryani for sehri (pre-dawn meal) and kept it in the fridge. Afterward, I cleaned my tiffin and stored my dinner for the next day.
I continued my conversation with my friend and also had a chat with my mother. After that, I spent some time scrolling through social media before settling down to write this blog.
And that’s a wrap for today! I hope you enjoyed reading about my day. Stay tuned for more updates tomorrow. If you have any questions or want to share your thoughts, feel free to leave a comment below. Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe to my blog!
