Day 23 in My Life at Software Development Institute, Banglore | The Z Blogs | 17/03/2025

Today is the 17th of March, 2025, and it marks my 23rd day at the Software Development Institute training.

My day started early at around 3:30 AM when I woke up, took a bath, and went downstairs to grab my tiffin for Sehri. After that, I ate almonds that I had soaked the night before and then finished my tiffin. I offered my Namaz afterward and took care of my stuff before going back to sleep at around 7:30 AM.

Just as I was sleeping, I received a call from one of the guys asking about the class timings. I was still half asleep but managed to tell him I would come on time. He then mentioned checking the notification on the app. When I checked, I saw the notification about the Java class being rescheduled from 8 AM to 12 PM. I told him I would come later, but there was still some confusion about whether other classes were rescheduled too. I wasn’t sure, so I asked my friends, and they told me that the first class would be at 10 AM, followed by the Java class at 12 PM, and the rest of the classes would remain unchanged.

After that, I called Suresh, but he was busy and didn’t pick up. I also called Rishika to see where she was. She told me she was already on her way, but she decided not to come to class because the class she was coming for had been canceled. I told her that was okay.

I went back to sleep to get some rest so I could wake up later for the 10 AM class. After about an hour, someone knocked on my door, and I received a call from my roommate. I opened the door, but I was still so tired that I ended up falling back asleep. This time, I didn’t set an alarm because I was in a deep sleep, and the previous alarms I set for 7:00 and 7:30 AM didn’t wake me up. When I finally woke up, it was already 9:56 AM — way too late! I rushed to get dressed and pressed my clothes quickly.

In the midst of this, I saw a message saying that my parcel, which I had been waiting for, was out for delivery. I called the delivery guy, and he told me he would arrive in half an hour. If I missed him, I would have to pick up the parcel the next day, but I didn’t want that. So, I decided to wait for him.

After half an hour, I called again, and the delivery guy told me he was downstairs at the gate. I ran to get the parcel, did the unboxing, took the required photos for authentication, and completed the OTP verification. Afterward, I locked everything up and quickly headed to the institute.

On the way, I received another call asking where I was. I told the person I was on my way and reached the institute around 10:30 to 10:45 AM. By that time, the faculty had already arrived and covered the introduction part of the class. I didn’t miss anything important, as it was just an introduction. Afterward, the faculty mentioned that he would be teaching logical programming, which includes solving around 150 problems across various topics that are often asked in interviews.

Following that class, we went downstairs to the regular class, but there was already another class going on. This created a bottleneck, with students crowding the staircase, and the faculties had to manage the situation, almost like traffic police! After about 15-20 minutes, we finally got into our class, punched in our attendance, and settled in. The instructor came late again and started discussing constructors, but since he was continuing from the previous instructor’s topic, many students couldn’t fully grasp the material. I asked him to explain it again in the next session, and he agreed.

During lunch break, I went to the mosque for Juhur Namaz. I didn’t sleep this time because I had already rested in the morning, but I did lie down for about 15-20 minutes. Afterward, I headed back to the institute. As expected, the SQL trainer began by asking us to revise all the concepts we had learned over the last 15 days. Since I had been absent in the previous class, I quickly caught up by borrowing notes from others. The trainer set a timer for 15 minutes, and everyone started revising.

After the 15-minute revision, the trainer began choosing students to answer questions. He looked for someone wearing brown, as he was wearing that color himself. Eventually, a student wearing brown arrived, and the trainer instructed him to pick someone for questioning. However, the student struggled to pick anyone, so the trainer made him choose again, and it went on like this for about 20-30 minutes. Finally, after some funny moments, the trainer had to step in and ask the questions himself. Eventually, the class ended, and a few students were asked to write SQL queries on the board.

On my way back to my PG, I met the girl who had taken my mock interview. She was also a student, just a senior, and she had been assigned as my mentor. I’ve always been an introvert, especially when it comes to speaking to girls, but today, I felt confident enough to say “Hi” to her. This was the first time in my life I greeted a girl with such confidence!

When I got back to my PG, I tested the electric kettle I had received in my parcel. It was a relief to finally have it, as I had been facing issues without it. After testing it for half an hour, I spent another 30 minutes scrolling through social media. Afterward, I went to the mosque for Asr Namaz, had my iftar followed by Maghrib Namaz, and then went to a restaurant to get a biryani. I wasn’t in the mood to eat anything else, so I just got the biryani and began heading back to my PG.

On my way back, I had to buy a few things. I stopped at a nearby shop to get samosas for my roommate, as he had asked me to. Unfortunately, I had to walk back almost 80% of the distance I had already covered. Afterward, I went to a market to buy notebooks, dishwashing soap, and some biscuits. I had to walk a long way to find the A4-sized notebooks I needed because the nearby stationery didn’t have them. Once I got everything, I came back, kept the stuff in my room, washed my tiffin, and filled it with the leftover biryani to put in the fridge.

Afterward, my roommate and I went to the dining area for dinner. Once back, I had the samosas and started copying my previous Java notes into the new notebook I bought today. I wanted to keep everything in one place, but I could only manage to write 3-4 pages before realizing that time was running out. I needed to finish writing this blog and sleep early so I could wake up on time for the next day.

So, I kept my notes aside and started writing this blog. That’s all for today! Stay tuned for more updates, and feel free to leave your queries in the comments. Bye!
