My Day 25 at the Software Development Institute and a interesting Dish

Hey there, welcome to my blog! So, today is 19th March, my 25th day at the Software Development Institute in Bangalore. Yesterday, something interesting happened. I came back to the PG around 12:30 or 12:40 AM, so I was a bit late getting to bed. By the time I made my bed and cleared up all my stuff, it was already 1:00 AM. After that, I finally went to sleep, knowing I had to wake up at 3:00 AM. I set my alarm, but the amazing thing is, even before the alarm went off, my eyes opened at exactly 3:00 AM! For someone like me, who can’t open his eyes even after sleeping for 15 hours, this was a huge achievement. I was really happy with myself for waking up so easily.

Anyway, I woke up, turned off all the alarms I had set (because I knew I wouldn't wake up with just one), got fresh, and went downstairs to grab my tiffin. I had two things to do: peel off the almonds that I had soaked overnight and heat up my tiffin, which was cold from being in the fridge overnight. I placed my tiffin to heat and started peeling the almonds, but then I realized the time was getting short. My roommate was still asleep and needed to wake up for Sehri, so I decided to wake him up.

Once he woke up, I noticed that there wasn't much time left, so I quickly opened my tiffin and started eating. But since I had had such a late dinner, I didn’t have much space in my stomach, so I only managed to take 2-3 bites. I finished off the almonds and then sat for a few minutes since there was still some time left before Fajr. I then offered my Namaz and decided to get some more sleep.

I set an alarm for 9:30 AM because we didn’t have Java class today, and I wanted to make up for the lack of sleep. I slept around 5:30 AM and woke up at 9:00 AM, just before my alarm went off. I got ready quickly, but then waited for a few minutes since I was a bit early. I left my PG and headed towards the institute. On the way, I called Manoj, who said he was on his way, and then I called Rishika, who told me she wasn’t coming to the morning class but would join us at 12:00 PM.

I waited for Manoj, and while waiting, Suresh showed up. We both waited for a few more minutes until Manoj and Akash arrived. We then headed to class. Our first class of the day was logical programming, where we covered if-else conditions and for loops, followed by 4-5 tricky questions. After class, we went downstairs, and as usual, the staircase was crowded since nearly six classes had to change classrooms at the same time. It was chaotic, with lots of students waiting around. We waited outside for about 10-15 minutes until it was time for our aptitude class.

Our aptitude trainer is very punctual and had already started the class by the time we arrived. He explained a topic and warned us that he wouldn’t tolerate lateness anymore from tomorrow. After this, he taught us visibility rules in aptitude.

After the class, everyone headed to lunch, but I went to the masjid to offer my Zohar Namaz. After offering Namaz, I went back to class for SQL. The trainer told us to come before 2:40 PM, but he himself was 2 minutes late and then started the class. We had discussed selection in SQL in the last class, and today, he explained operators in SQL, including arithmetic, logical, relational, comparison, and concatenation operators.

After class, I left the institute and walked with Rishika to the bus stop. Normally, Rishika waits for the bus at the stop, but today, she accompanied me until the bus stop. Manoj picked her up from there, and they went their way. I continued my journey back to my PG. Once I reached, I dropped my bag off and then spent 10 minutes scrolling through Instagram. After that, I realized I still had some work to do, so I started writing my blog.

As I was writing, I browsed Instagram and YouTube to plan my dinner. It’s been almost 20 days of Ramzan, and I’ve been having only biryani every day, so I decided to try something different today. I spent quite some time researching good restaurants and dishes, which took me until around 5:50 PM. After browsing, I finally decided on a restaurant and a dish, added it to my cart, and scheduled the delivery for 7:00-7:30 PM. After making the payment, I rushed to the masjid for Asar Namaz, as I was running late.

After offering Namaz and breaking my fast with Iftar, I performed my Maghrib Namaz. Once done, I headed to the restaurant to pick up my food. My roommate called me and asked me to bring a plate of biryani for him. I agreed and went to the restaurant. However, since I had already spent quite a bit on my dinner, I decided not to get anything for myself, as the meal was heavy with 3-4 dishes. I only got the biryani for my roommate.

On my way back to the PG, just 100 meters from my building, I checked the status of my Zomato order. It said the rider had reached my area, so I was excited. Suddenly, I received a call from the delivery rider, saying he was at my PG. I told him I was just behind him, and I quickly received my order.

I went to my room, took a few pictures of the food, washed my hands, and started eating. It was absolutely delicious! For the first time in Bangalore, I was enjoying a three-course meal ordered from a restaurant. The meal came in an 8-compartment box, and here’s what was inside:

  • For starters: Haleem (in two compartments), an onion samosa, a chicken keema samosa.
  • Main course: Biryani with one piece of chicken, curd, mint chutney, and a sheek kabab.
  • Dessert: Gulab Jamun.

I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. After finishing most of it, there was one sheek kabab left. Since I was already full, I kept it aside for either Sehri or to give to my roommate later. I washed the box and set it aside for future use. After that, I looked at the sheek kabab and couldn’t resist eating one piece. I saved the other piece for my roommate.

Then, I remembered I had to pack my tiffin for Sehri, but I decided to work on my pending Java assignment first. I got so caught up in it that I didn’t realize how much time had passed. When I finally looked at the time, it was already 9:30 PM. I thought I should stop the work and start writing my blog. I only had 2-3 pages left to finish, so I decided to complete it first. By 10:00 PM, I wrapped up everything.

But just then, I remembered an important task: packing my tiffin. It was too late to get food at the PG, and I was really worried that I would miss out. The next day, I would have to fast with just dates and water. I quickly ran to the dining area with my tiffin. To my relief, there were still two eggs and 3-4 chapatis left. I took a deep breath. As I was washing my tiffin, I saw others coming to grab the last food items. One guy took an egg and some chapati, which made me anxious. But I quickly washed my tiffin, grabbed whatever was left, and filled it up. I washed the rest of my containers, put the tiffin in the fridge, and returned to my room.

By the time I checked the time, it was very late. I decided not to write my blog anymore or do anything else and just went to bed.

So that’s it for today! Let’s see what tomorrow brings. See you tomorrow. Bye!
